Christian Science church services have many familiar elements such as hymns, the Lord’s Prayer, readings from the Scriptures, and warm fellowship.
Sunday services begin at 10 a.m. and last one hour. The main body of the service is a Bible Lesson Sermon, which is made up of citations from the Bible and from our denominational textbook,Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, written by our founder, Mary Baker Eddy. These Bible Lessons are published ahead of time so that they can be studied throughout the week.
There is no ordained clergy in the Christian Science church. Services are conducted by readers who are elected from the membership on a rotating basis. Our pastor is the Bible and our textbook, which keeps our services free from personal opinion and advice. Our services are, however, full of divine inspiration, joy, and healing.
The weekly Bible Lessons are published in many formats – text, audio, online, and in foreign languages. To find out more, visit our Reading Room, or go to http://biblelesson.christianscience.com/
Wednesday testimony meetings begin at 7:30 p.m. and last one hour. These meetings include readings from the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, chosen by the reader to address topics of current interest in a spiritual manner. The main body of this service is the sharing by the congregation of healings and inspiration that come from prayer and from the study and practice of Christian Science.
All are welcome at our services!
